Distinction Invercargill Hotel are on the hunt for a talented and driven Sous Chef to shape the culinary identity of this landmark property. This is a chance to be part of a brand new kitchen that will be redefining dining in Southland and build a standout food destination from the ground up. As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in line with our standards and helping to deliver an excellent dining experience for our guests. You'll work closely with the Executive Chef and other team members to maintain efficiency, creativity, and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook dishes according to menu specifications and presentation standards.

Assist in menu development and specials planning.

Work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure consistency of service.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.

Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.

Support team members and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a senior chef in a commercial kitchen.

Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.

Creativity, attention to detail, and time management skills.

Ability to work under pressure and in a team.

Relevant culinary qualifications are a plus.
