Are you passionate about hospitality, thrive in a dynamic environment and love delivering exceptional guest experiences? Distinction Luxmore Hotel in beautiful Te Anau is seeking a proactive and service-driven Manager on Duty to join our leadership team.

About Us:
Distinction Luxmore Hotel is part of the Distinction Hotels Group, one of New Zealand’s leading, independently owned and operated hotel chains. Located in Te Anau at the gateway to Fiordland National Park, our hotel prides itself on warm southern hospitality and high service standards.

The Role:
As Manager on Duty, you will oversee the hotel’s daily operations, ensuring our guests receive outstanding service across all departments. You’ll be the first point of contact for staff and guests during your shift and will be responsible for maintaining smooth operational flow, resolving issues promptly and upholding brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the senior manager during assigned shifts.
• Supervise front desk, food & beverage, housekeeping and maintenance teams.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and handle any issues or complaints professionally.
• Conduct property walks and ensure health & safety standards are maintained.
• Assist with staff coordination and shift planning.
• Report and escalate operational issues as needed.

What We Are Looking For:
• Previous hotel experience in a supervisory or duty management role.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work under pressure and deal with stressful busy environments.
• A hands-on, guest-focused approach.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and evenings.
• Previous hotel experience in F&B, front office (guest centrix), housekeeping & manager positions is an advantage.
